At the core of this jacket lies ONI’s Ishikawadai denim, produced using a rare 1953 Ishikawadai spinning machine. This vintage machine operates at a much slower speed than modern equipment, placing minimal stress on the cotton fibers and resulting in yarns with a naturally irregular, hand-spun character. The fabric displays subtle variations and depth, offering a more organic and refined texture compared to standard denim.
The yarns are spun using this traditional method and woven on 1950s shuttle looms, creating a 15oz selvedge denim that balances structure, softness, and long-term durability.
