The shoehorn is press-molded from 1mm thick solid Japanese brass and handcrafted by a family-operated small press company in Chiba, Japan, in continuous operation since 1974. The finish is matte-polished, with the Redcast Heritage logo expertly laser-engraved for clean, lasting detail. At 16 cm (6.2"), it is perfectly sized for travel — compact enough to slip into a bag or jacket pocket, yet substantial enough to handle boots, shoes, and sneakers with ease.
The shoehorn is presented in a handmade pouch crafted from locally sourced Japanese pig suede, tanned domestically and sewn by a small Tokyo workshop operating since 1982. The pouch closes with a cotton wax cord produced by a specialized Shizuoka company in continuous operation since 1930 — a quiet collaboration of three multi-generational Japanese makers, each a specialist in their craft.
